2003 Jaguar X-Type
Body style(s): 4-door sedan
Trim Levels: 2.5, 3.0
MSRP range: $29,305-$36,305
Notes: Jaguar had never had three sedans simultaneously before the
X-Type arrived on the scene, and after a year many began to wonder if
the new car was a drastic error. Quality control problems led to a
number of reliability issues, and the car's sales slumped accordingly.
Despite the low base MSRP, the price of X-Types was often much higher,
as many features were only available in option packages. With Ford's
financial crisis unabated, chances for diversification of X-Type
models seemed in serious jeopardy.
