2003 Cadillac CTS
Body style(s):
4-door sedan

Trim Levels: base
MSRP range: $29,350

Notes: Filling the void left by the departure of the Catera, the CTS appeared as a 2003 model in January 2002. According to Cadillac, CTS means nothing at all, but many think that it stands for Catera Touring Sedan. A brand-new front-engine RWD design, the CTS was most notable for its angular styling and technological bent. This was the first market appearance of Cadillac's "Art and Science" doctrine. Meant to appeal in international markets, the CTS was available with a 2.6L V6 for export markets. The CTS was the first GM model on the RWD Sigma platform, intended to power a whole range of future Cadillacs. A sport package added a retuned suspension, 17-inch wheels, and stability control. The CTS was placed in a somewhat ambivalent market position, somewhere between the BMW 3-Series and 5-Series, competing with both but directly comparable to neither.
